WATCH OUT FOR HITCHHIKERS!!!
BED BUGS HAVE BECOME A REAL PROBLEM
Bed bugs are a blood-feeding insect that feast mostly on the blood of humans. Feeding at night, we may not be aware of the bed bug's presence until the population has become overwhelming. Bed bugs infest homes, hospitals, subways, movie theathers, hotels and planes just to name a few and can live for a year without a blood meal. A single female can start a whole new infestation. Bed bugs infest cracks and crevices, furniture, behind pitures and mirrors, and wall outlets and will "hitchhike" on clothing, in suitcases and used furniture.The cryptic nature of the bed bug makes it difficult to detect, locate and treat. Early detection makes it less expensive to treat and treatment more successful. (University of Florida)

HEAT STRESS & WATERING PRACTICES
Because the days are getting warmer and longer, watering should be increased as needed. Coverage and proper amounts of water is critical. One inch in full sun areas and one half inch in shaded areas is recommended per watering. BROWN SPOTS in the lawn can occur if there is not adequate water coverage. SHRUBS WILL WITHER and die off without adquatewater. Over the next two months, our treatments will include ORGANIC GRANULAR FERTILIZER APPLICATIONS  and GURB TREATMENTS along with our regularly scheduled treatments.

ROOT INJECTIONS FOR PALMS AND OTHER TREES
Palms and other trees are susceptible to a host of dis-eases including PALM BORERS, GANODERMA BUTT ROT, LETHAL YELLOWING and malnutrition just to name a few. To help our beautiful trees stay healthy, fight off disease and survive cold weather conditions, it is improtant to stay ahead of the game by feeding a good diet of proper granular fertilizer four times per year and root injections f major and minor nutrients plus a mild insecticide. While there is not cure for Ganoderma or Lethal Yellowing, staying as healthy as possible is the best defense.

A HEALTHIER WORLD
With very little attention given to preventative health care these days, it is important we take care of ourselves so we don't get sick. Many factors affect our health in many ways.
So here are a few health tips from DR. OZ, courtesy of AARP magazine, May & June issue.

DAILY CHECK LIST
1. Walk 30 minutes per day. Working out has benefits for heart, weight and even your sex life.
It may also stave off Alzheimer's as new research finds.
2. Brush and floss. Brushing removes only about 60 percent of germs from between teeth. Flossing is important.
3. Sleep 7 to 8 hours a night. Proper sleep repairs cells and raises growth hormone levels which can increase bone density and decrease body fat.
4. Drinking two cups of green tea in the am lessens the risk of some cancers and lowers cholesterol.
5. Take 400 mg of DHA omega 3's, 1000 IU of vitamin D and 1000 MG calciun per day. Calicum and vitamin D boost bone density and omegas diminish cognitive decline.
6. Mediate for 5 minutes. Yoga, prayer and meditation reduce stress.

Ask three strangers how old they think you are. Their answers are an indictor of how healthy you are.
