SPRING IS HERE!!!
Now is the time to trim back the shrubs and plant new ones after the frost this past winter. Putting down a w\ell balanced shrub and palm granular fertilizer as well as a shrub liquid treatment of pesticide, fungicide and triple 20 liquid fertilzier will help in recovery. Healthy plants, palm trees and lawns recover faster and fight off diseases, so be sure to fertilize on a regular schedule. This would be four times per year for shrubs and trees and three times for lawns.
ROOT INJECTION AND ANTIBIOTIC CONTROL will be helpful for palm trees.

BE ON THE LOOK OUT!!!
CHINCH BUGS AND GRUBS will be of concern in the lawn.
CATERPILLARS, APHIDS, WHITE FLY, SCALE, MEALY BUGS and FUNGUS are shrub problems that can occur.
GANODERMA BUTT ROT and LETHAL YELLOWING in palm trees have been reported.
If you suspect any of these problems, call your local expert.

WATERING PRACTICES FOR THE SPRING
Because the days are getting warmer and longer, watering should be increased as needed. Coverage and proper amounts of water are critical. One inch in full sun areas and one half inch in shaded areas is recommended per watering.
BROWN SPOTS IN THE LAWN can occur if there is not adquate water coverage.

WHITE FOOTED ANTS
If you live in an area where these ants are prevalent, it would be best to call immediately for treatment. White footed ants infest in large numbers and will travel a good distance from the nest invading other structers.

OTHER INVADERS
Becasue of the cold weather, RATS AND MICE will be looking for a warm new home, your attic.
An inspection will determine the situation.
