A BON VOYAGE NEWS FLASHJanuary/February 2012
"The New Year is here! Happy 2012 DOES IT REALLY GET COLD IN FLORIDA?Yes, it does freeze here in beautiful sunny Southwest Florida. So here are some tips for you. COOL WEATHER WATERING: be sure to cut back watering as the shrubs and lawn do not need as much water in periods of cooler weather and shorter days.FROST DAMAGE: Winter damage is caused not only by low temperatures, but also by drying winds. Move potted plants indoors. If it has been dry, thoroughly watering the landscape before a freeze will reduce freeze damage. Plants may be covered with sheets, not plastic. Remove the sheets the next day. Christmas lights in the shrubs will give off heat and help protect the plants. If plants are damaged, do not prune, remove or replace until the Spring. This will do more damage if another frost comes. "GREEN IS MORE THE THEME:Our INTERIOR PEST PROGRAM is designed to use the least amount of treatment in the interior and the lowest toxicity materials for the outside.Inspections and estimates are always FREE!
